Patchouli Essential Oil — Pure Earthy Oil for Grounding Aromatherapy & Skincare
Patchouli Essential Oil — Pure Earthy Oil for Grounding Aromatherapy & Skincare
Ground your emotions. Glow your skin. Amayah Patchouli Essential Oil is 100% pure, undiluted, and steam-distilled from aged Pogostemon cablin leaves — for a deep, earthy, musky-woody aroma that calms the nervous system, balances oily skin, and adds a warm, lasting base note to any aromatic blend. Diffuse for grounding and emotional balance, apply diluted to skin for a natural glow, or use as the base in DIY perfume and hair oil blends.
What separates patchouli from almost every other essential oil is that it improves with age. The steam-distillation process extracts the oil from dried, fermented leaves of Pogostemon cablin, and the longer the oil is aged after extraction, the deeper and richer the earthy musky it becomes. It is the anchor note in hundreds of classic perfumes for a reason: patchouli holds other fragrances in place, extends their staying power, and adds a sensory depth that lighter top notes cannot provide on their own.
Scent profile
Deep, earthy, and musky with a warm woody sweetness underneath. The opening is distinctly of the earth — rich, damp, and botanical — but as it settles and warms on skin or in the air, it becomes something even better.

How to use Patchouli Essential Oil
- Diffuser (grounding + meditation): Add 3–4 drops to your diffuser with water. Blend with Frankincense (2:1) for a deeply meditative atmosphere, or with Lavender (1:2) to soften the earthiness into something more balanced and calming.
- Skin (oily skin, glow): Mix 2–3 drops per teaspoon of a light carrier oil (jojoba or rosehip are ideal). Apply to the face as part of a moisturising routine. Patchouli has natural astringent and anti-inflammatory properties that support a clear, even skin tone over consistent use.
- Hair oil blend: Add 4–5 drops to 2 tablespoons of coconut or castor oil. Massage into the scalp for scalp health. It adds a lasting warm fragrance to the hair that lasts well after washing.
- Perfume base note (DIY blending): Patchouli is a classic base note in perfumery. Use 2–3 drops as the foundation of a personal fragrance blend, then layer Bergamot or Orange as a top note and Lavender or Ylang Ylang as the heart.
